Strengthening Country Platforms: Integrating Urban and Subnational Priorities for Climate Finance

CCFLA and the SDSN Global Commission for Urban SDG Finance launched a new policy paper on integrating urban priorities into country platforms at the World Bank and IMF Spring Meetings.

The event highlighted how country platforms, emerging as key mechanisms for mobilizing climate finance, often lack systematic engagement with subnational governments—despite their critical role in delivering climate action.

The newly launched paper presented a practical framework to address this gap, drawing on real-world case studies from Egypt, India, Brazil, and Bangladesh.

The high-level gathering brought together policymakers, MDB representatives, financiers, and city leaders to discuss strategies for more effectively incorporating urban investment needs into country platforms.
